Fairmont Royal York has partnered with the University Health Network Foundation to offer the Rest Safe program for its network of frontline health care professionals. As the city remains vigilant, hospital staff are called to work extended shifts, resulting in significant levels of mental, emotional and physical fatigue. To support these incredible efforts, the Rest Safe program establishes the Fairmont Royal York as a comfortable resting place for UHN's network to take personal time to pause, relax and benefit from a good night's sleep.
Over the course of the pandemic, the hotel's team has acted with tremendous care to adhere to government health and safety regulations, in addition to internal safety audits and enhanced cleaning protocols in Accor’s ALLSafe cleanliness label developed with the support of Bureau Veritas, a recognized world leader in testing, inspections and certification services. At each touchpoint along the guest journey, extensive measures are implemented to protect guests and colleagues to aid in preventing the spread of COVID-19.

A leader in major research and complex case management, the University Health Network was in fact the first to administer the COVID-19 vaccine in Ontario. With such successful progress, clinicians are experiencing some of the highest levels of distress and burnout in maintaining the pace required in caring for Toronto’s population.
